TOMORROW/Sunday 4PM: The Chrysalis 36: NEW
Happy New Year Hartlist!!
It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a.... well, it's a new chapter in the same life. It's tempting especially after a year like 2020, to want to push the reset button entirely and declare a do-over, but A) not how it works and B) hold on- wasn't there some good stuff to take with you??
Tune in TOMORROW, 4PM on The Chrysalis, the 36th episode: NEW... songs & words about what that means. Streaming live from my FB page as usual, posting later on insta & youtube. As you were.
So I don't do "New Year's Resolutions". This is because - and this isn't, like, a Policy, it's just something I realized five minutes ago - it is not joyful. And I have found that it is really only Joy - ie, feeling good and not bad - that has ever motivated me to do anything. Like it or not, this is who I am. No amount of "should" has ever worked, ever. If on the other hand, I can find the joy, get a little excited, aim to Feel Better, we're in business.
Maybe you relate to this. Maybe you just shouted "Hedonist!" and flipped your desk over. But that isn't quite it.
Because I have found that this is a two -part process. 1) asking where the joy is, and 2) being honest about the answer. Because, I don't know, maybe you can relate to this also: "But my {insert self-destructive habit, toxic relationship, habitual neglect} feels good! It makes me happy!"
I could go on (and did, and deleted like two paragraphs - whose blog is this anyway -), but the point is,
I wish you True Joy (and Health) in 2021. See you tomorrow for some words and music.
Love
RH
