Sunday 4PM: The Chrysalis 32: THANKS
Hey Hartlist,
Greetings from my Food Hangover to yours. I hope your Zoom fatigue was minimal, your baked goods fluffy, and your Protein of Choice satisfying. Post-holiday sloth today is such that I almost didn't write this newsletter at all, thinking, 'meh, they know where the show is by now'. (It's here, every Sunday at 4PM.) But -as is true of the weekly show itself - I Am So Glad I Made Myself Do It. Hello. I can't really let Thanksgiving slide by without giving thanks for YOU. To everyone who reads this, and tunes in weekly, or sometimes, or whatever: thanks.
That's really it. I mean I could go on about the power of practicing gratitude but if you're anything like me you probably have ten of those emails in your inbox already. I thought about calling this week "Praise", but that sounded misleadingly Church-y*, or "Wow"**, or "appreciate" (but, ew), and I think 'thanks' sums it up the best. Casual, everyday, no need to make me a turkey (but if you do, I will accept it. In a year.)
This week on The Chrysalis: songs and words in and around the topic of gratitude. Last week's show is here if you missed it. What's that? Why yes I did bake a cake for Thanksgiving and it looked like this.
See you Sunday at 4PM, over on facebook-for-now,
RH
* notthattheresanythingwrongwiththat I just don't do Church since I'm not a practitioner of any one religion, being instead 'ethnically pureed' and owing allegiance to at least three spiritual traditions.
** Anne Lamott calls 'Wow' one of the 'three essential prayers', along with 'help' and 'thanks'. Ok that was a little Churchy.
