First things first: I have a gig!!
Saturday, May 8, 8PM
opening for the hilarious Liam McEneany
The Kraine Theatre
85 E 4th Street NYNY
As in, a few songs, live and in person. IF you have been vaccinated (and they mean it), you can snag one of the limited tickets (22) and come hang with us. I don’t have the ticket link yet but will soon! And if not, never fear!! The event will be livestreamed. Liam is an old friend from the long-running comedy night ‘Sundays at Seven’ at the Irish Arts Center, which keeps inviting me to guest even when I don’t play funny songs, and I’m doing a few of them before his set. Live. Alive. In Person. May 8.
Also: mark your calendars for Saturday June 8 for a rooftop *band show* in Brooklyn, details forthcoming.
It is officially SPRING in the city (and, I assume, elsewhere). Half the trees are bursting forth with white blossoms and the other half are covered in those tiny buds that look like haze from a block away. A friend of mine says that every year around this time, she walks down the street looking at the trees and thinks “I didn’t do that. It happened without me, and I didn’t have to do anything to make it happen.” I often think about the power of Doing Less, as in, sometimes we just need to plant a seed and then leave it alone to bloom… but sometimes we don’t even need to do that! This week on The Chrysalis 47: BLOOM, songs and such about sudden grace and easy blessings.
