'Songs from the Chrysalis' 9: LIVE IT JUST LIVE IT Sunday AND OTHER streaming performances this week!
Hey Hartlist,
A couple of weeks (months? years?) ago when this started, my 4 year old nephew surprised his whole family by shouting, in the middle of dinner, in a deep Old Man Prophet sort of voice:
"It's a terrifying feeling But Live It JUST LIVE IT!"
Let's #LIVEITJUSTLIVEIT this week, whatever that means. Let's lean out our windows (at 7PM NYC) and bang our pots and pans. Let's make songs and stories and foccaccia for each other. Whatever the good parts of this are, let's lean into them. And the bad parts, well, you heard the tiny man.
Ok business: THREE DIFFERENT LIVE STREAM APPEARANCES THIS WEEK:
1) as always, Sunday 5/10 4PM EST "Songs from the Chrysalis 9" mini concert on facebook and on instagram.
2) THAT SAME NIGHT, Sunday 5/10 730PM I will be appearing in the "Out of an Abundance of Caution", "an avant-garde microfestival LIVE + online of quick and dirty-fascinating work responding to and from the places and people with whom we select to shelter", featuring works both live & pre-recorded. I'll be playing my song "No Cities", from Mallery Avidon's play "Gilded Girls".
3) Wednesday 5/13 230PM EST I'm happy to be taking part in the global "digital song cycle" On Hope , produced by UK-based MPTheatricals in collaboration with The Other Palace. So. Many. People. are writing songs for this. I'll be performing my song "Better Grow", written with composer Emily Chiu.
Lastly, for anyone we haven't told yet, Rebecca Hart & the Wrong Band's Tiny Desk Concert Entry was approved and is here if you want to see us in (remote, virtual) action.
See you out there,
Rebecca Hart & the Wrong Band
