Songs from the Chrysalis 16:FOOD (7/12) & new band vid

Hey Hartlist,
Thank you to all who joined for last week's 'Chrysalis' GHOSTS edition. If you missed it here it is. This week (I say, as if this is different than other weeks), I'm thinking about FOOD.
This could be because on Monday it was my birthday and I baked myself this cake for breakfast (switch lemon to orange, using half the juice, and make a glaze with the other half, you'll thank me.)
But really I blame this:
The Wrong Band's birthday present to me: "Caramel", by Suzanne Vega.
I could not upload the actual video here but their version is gorgeous check it out.
The notion of food (read: desire) as dangerously powerful in songs and stories is as old as songs themselves. Don't give in, you'll regret it! Don't eat the apple, don't eat with the fairies, don't take the turkish delight, yada yada. But also - Sugar Pie Honey Bunch! Lady Marmalade! Whatever, you get my point and this email is already taking too long to write. Food is life! Food is awesome! Food brings us together and is how we share of ourselves and our time! Basically, I've been thinking about our often weird and conflicted relationship to ...feeling good, basically.
This coming Sunday, 7/12, join me on FB at 4PM for a set devoted to deliciousness. You CAN watch it even if you don't have FB. Enjoying the series? Invite someone, there's enough to go around!!
See you soon,
RH
